Dr. Charmi Thakkar Deshmukh completed her MBBS from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. Post that she completed her MS(ObsGyn) Master of Surgery from Mysore. She then went ahead to do a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Endogynecology (Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy) from the world-renowned GEM Hospital in Coimbatore.
Dr. Charmi further honed her skills in Laparoscopy working with Dr. Rakesh Sinha & Beams Hospital. To her credit, she has presented many research papers at National & State level conferences. She has been in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology since 2007, and over the years her expertise in the field & her love and dedication for her work has been widely recognized and appreciated by her colleagues & patients alike.
In terms of education, Dr. Charmi has pursued advanced training in Laparoscopy in Gynaecology, a milestone achieved in December 2013 under the mentorship of Dr. Rakesh Sinha at Women's Hospital in Khar, Mumbai. She further honed her expertise through a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Endo-Gynaecology in January 2013, conducted at GEM Hospital and Research Centre in Coimbatore, affiliated with The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University. Her academic journey also includes a Masters in Surgery Obstetrics and Gynaecology from JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysore, in June 2010, and an M.B.B.S. from Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, in December 2004, with registration in May 2006 under the Maharashtra Medical Council.
Engaging actively in academic pursuits, Dr. Charmi has participated in various training programs, including laparoscopic suturing & hysteroscopy at CMAST, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai, and served as an Organizing Committee Member for the AMASICON-GYNOLAP 2012 International conference in Coimbatore. She has also contributed to workshops on vaginal surgeries, such as V-SURG 2012 in Trisshur, and a skilled course in Pondicherry. Her commitment extends to preventive oncology training at ADYAR Cancer Institute, Chennai, in June 2011, and ultrasonography courses at Sonoscan in Coimbatore from August 1-31, 2010.
With a career spanning various prestigious institutions, Dr. Charmi currently holds the position of Senior Consultant & Partner in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Lifewave Hospital, Malad, and Yashda Maternity and Surgical Hospital, Goregaon (Mumbai) since April 2015. Her prior roles include serving as a Consultant-Gynaecologist at BEAMS Hospital, Khar, Mumbai, from January 2014 to April 2015, and contributing to the Department of Endo-Gynaecology at GEM Hospital and Research Centre, Coimbatore, from February 2011 to June 2013. Dr. Charmi has also served as a Registrar at KEM Hospital, Mumbai, from October 2010 to January 2011.
In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Charmi has actively participated in Surgical Gynaecological camps at Sarvoday Trust Hospital, Kutch, in December 2010, February 2011, March 2011, November 2013, and January 2014. Her notable paper presentations include talks on "Specimen Retrieval in Endogynaecology" at AMASICON-GYNOLAP 2012, "Combined Spinal Epidural Analgesia in Labor" at the All India Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in January 2010, "Hysteroscopy in Perimenopausal Bleeding" at Gynaecological Endoscopy Today in February 2009, and another on the same topic at the Karnataka State Obstetrics & Gynaecology Association Conference in September 2009.
